Check your pictures

Your pictures can get broken without you knowing. For example an error during copy, an unreliable drive or other things that can cause pictures to get broken. In cPicture you can verify your archives to find all broken pictures.

Select the panel 'More Tasks' and click 'Check pictures' to start the scan.

Set the date

To change and repair wrong file dates of your pictures, cPicture has several unique features:

  • Restore any changed file date back to the EXIF date
  • Renumber the file date of a selection to restore the order
  • Correct the file date with an offset
  • Set to EXIF date with an offset to correct for wrong time zone or other wrong offsets

Try it out. Select pictures and press CTRL-D

Resizing

Select the picture(s) and click the resize button in the Start Panel (shortcut Ctrl+R). Enter the new pixel size and click "OK" to resize the selection.

The resize is not limited to a pixel size, but can be scaled to mm, cm and Inch using the default printers resolution. Simply select the unit for the new size:

To adjust the Quality Level for the JPEG Picture, click "Preview" and adjust the sliders. The preview Picture will be instantly adjusted to reflect the new Quality Level values:

You can even resize to a specific file size. Select the check box "[x] File size" and enter the new size:

EXIF picture data

Make sure your customer get the correct picture data (EXIF) in the JPEG pictures. Cameras and RAW converter software often store picture data for JPEG in multiple segments. Editing software often updates only the main segment and leave the original picture data unchanged.

With cPicture you can remove, copy or add picture data segments or even securely remove all existing picture data before the customer gets it.
